Today we started on Project EVOlution. Our goal was to pull the motor and see what parts will be needed to rebuild this car into the car Dave wants.
The inital teardown of the car, requires removing the battery tray and intake first, from there all of the electrical, oil and gas lines.
Once these are removed, we went under the car and removed the rear driveshaft, transfer case, and the front axels.
With that complete the motor was ready to come out. After some twisting and pushing the motor and tranny were free from the car and ready for teardown.
As time goes on we will be posting more info and shots on the teardown and rebuild of project EVOlution so check back often.
Our next step will be to tear down the motor and determine what is needed to build the car into a 450-500whp street machine. To do this we will be addressing the motor, turbo, transmission, transfer case, suspension, and brakes. |
